150th CHURCH ANNIVERSARY Celebrations - (Events and times): The following was the timetable of events that led up to a successful 150th Anniversary for Greenfield. Friday 1st August 2008 at 7am -Prayer meeting in the chapel followed by breakfast in the schoolroom. (on Sunday 1st August 1858 at 7am a prayer meeting was held in the newly built chapel prior to the first service of worship). Thursday 4th September 11am: Opening Service of the 150th Anniversary Flower festival in the chapel. The chapel will be open every day Thursday – Saturday from 11am – 6pm. There will also be an historical exhibition in the schoolroom. Admission free. Coffee/tea will also be served. Saturday 6th September 7pm: Anniversary ‘Celebration’ with the Cambrensis choir. Admission £3. (Proceeds of the celebration are for a Romanian Orphanage) SUNDAY 7th SEPTEMBER
11am: United Communion Service to celebrate the 150th Anniversary of the church. Saturday 13th September: Fun barbeque with entertainment for the children and young people of the church at Llangennech Scouts Hall. Sunday 14th September 11am: ‘All age’ worship (the children and young people will be presented with Bibles to commemorate the 150th Anniversary). 6pm Evening praise and worship with Communion.
A bone china Commemorative Plate and mug are being produced and will be available in September to commemorate the Anniversary. There will also be a DVD with highlights of all the services and events of the Anniversary together with a visual history of the last 50 years in the life of the church.
