150th CHURCH ANNIVERSARY Celebrations - (Events and times):

The following was the timetable of events that led up to a successful 150th Anniversary for Greenfield.

Friday 1st August 2008 at 7am -Prayer meeting in the chapel followed by breakfast in the schoolroom. (on Sunday 1st August 1858 at 7am a prayer meeting was held in the newly built chapel prior to the first service of worship).

Thursday 4th September 11am: Opening Service of the 150th Anniversary Flower festival in the chapel. The chapel will be open every day Thursday – Saturday from 11am – 6pm. There will also be an historical exhibition in the schoolroom. Admission free. Coffee/tea will also be served.

Flower Festival

Saturday 6th September 7pm: Anniversary ‘Celebration’ with the Cambrensis choir. Admission £3. (Proceeds of the celebration are for a Romanian Orphanage)

SUNDAY 7th SEPTEMBER 11am: United Communion Service to celebrate the 150th Anniversary of the church.
We welcome all the local Baptist churches and other friends to join with us for our morning service. Guest Preacher. Rev Dr John Weaver. President of the Baptist Union of Great Britain. 6pm Evening Worship with Rev Dr John Weaver.

Saturday 13th September: Fun barbeque with entertainment for the children and young people of the church at Llangennech Scouts Hall.

Sunday 14th September 11am: ‘All age’ worship (the children and young people will be presented with Bibles to commemorate the 150th Anniversary). 6pm Evening praise and worship with Communion.


COMMEMORATIVE PLATES & MUGS & DVD:

A bone china Commemorative Plate and mug are being produced and will be available in September to commemorate the Anniversary. There will also be a DVD with highlights of all the services and events of the Anniversary together with a visual history of the last 50 years in the life of the church.
